Kamu Yönetimi bölümünden mezun oldum ancak kısa sürede bu alanda çalışmanın bana uygun olmadığını fark ettim. Çocukluğumdan beri hayatımda yer alan fotoğrafçılığa yönelmemde ise en büyük etken babam oldu. Babam fotoğrafla hobi olarak ilgilenirdi ve benim fotoğraf makinesiyle ilk tanışmam da onun sayesinde gerçekleşti. Ailem için fotoğraf sadece bir uğraştan ibaretti, bu alanda eğitim almak ya da çalışmak kabul gören bir durum değildi. Ancak ben zamanla çevremin beklentilerinden çok kendi tutkularımın peşinden gitmem gerektiğini deneyimleyerek öğrendim. Kendi yolumu çizerken attığım ilk adım, Anadolu Üniversitesi Fotoğraf Bölümü’ne başvurmak oldu. Ürün fotoğrafçılığı alanında çalıştım. Ardından Halk Eğitim Merkezi’nde fotoğraf eğitmeni olarak görev almaya başladım. Fotoğrafın benim için en ilgi çekici yanı ise, nesnel gerçekliği kendi öznel bakış açımla anlatabilmenin verdiği özgürlük ve yaratıcılık duygusudur. Bu yönüyle fotoğraf, benim için bir meslekten çok yaşam biçimine dönüşmüştür.

I graduated from the Department of Public Administration, but I quickly realized that working in this field wasn't for me. My father was the biggest influence in my pursuit of photography, a field I've had since childhood. He was a hobbyist, and my first encounter with a camera came through him. For my family, photography was merely a hobby; studying or working in this field wasn't considered acceptable. However, over time, I learned through experience that I should pursue my own passions rather than the expectations of those around me. The first step I took in forging my own path was applying to the Photography Department at Anadolu University. I studied product photography. Then I began working as a photography instructor at the Public Education Center. The most compelling aspect of photography for me is the freedom and creativity that comes from being able to portray objective reality through my own subjective perspective. In this respect, photography has become a way of life, rather than a profession.
